Learn of the value of media/video for the 21st Century learner
Become aware of the 7 biggest mistakes teachers make using video in the classroom
Develop the following skills:
  • Download a video clip - if you have Discovery Education streaming or Learn360, use those; if not, locate a free resource on JT's Portaportal.com site. (Guest access - jmtucke) Look in the Streaming Media Resources category.
  • Play a video clip with the appropriate video player (i.e. QuickTime Player, Windows Media Player, Real Player)
  • If time, insert a video into a slide presentation (i.e. Keynote, Google Presentation, PowerPoint)
  • WARNING - if at all possible download ahead of time, before or after school; streaming video with a class of students waiting is living dangerously!
